Mission is the best way to connect shoppers with stores. We make connections for forward-thinking businesses and shoppers tired of sharing their data for irrelevant ads. Let’s make shopping a personal experience again.
At Mission, we believe online shopping isn’t all that. And it shouldn’t be! When you know exactly what you need, Amazon is great. The problems start with when you’re not sure or want inspiration or advice. Neither Google, Amazon or most online stores are good at that since they return you thousand of options…99.9% of which you really don’t care about. But someone paid big $ for their ad to be on page 1, so here it is.
Most algorithms suck. No really. People who have bought this also have bought that. Great. I don’t really care what other people have and let’s be honest, all those algorithms are biased on 2 things: 1 What websites are trying to sell, 2 Past behavior and data. They don’t help you really discover new-new like Mission merchants will - humans who’s job it is to find out the latest and greatest.
As Digital commerce natives, we became painfully aware with of the fate and lack of stewardship towards local stores & merchants. Regardless of the category, from fashion to jewelry, housewares and beauty, none of the big tech companies are helping be the voice of hundreds of merchandisers and businesses in our city whom sole reason of being is to find and source amazing stuff. We salute companies like Shopfiy & Etsy for helping bring to market authentic goods; we at Mission want to help do so as well.
